Program Description:

Program OverviewPSU Exchange Ulsan

Until the early 1960's, the city of Ulsan was a fishing port and agricultural center. However, as the Ulsan Industrial District began to build up in 1962, it emerged as an industrial center of Korea. The city became home to major industrial plants and factories, which include oil refineries, chemical plants, and the multinational Hyundai Corporation's ship building and automobile production factories

Program Focus

The program offers a wide variety of learning opportunities to assist in achieving success in today's competitive global environment. The Korean Language and Culture Program will help you become a more fluent and effective communicator in Korean as well as help you to expand your knowledge and understanding of Korean culture. This program will also enrich your educational experience by providing you with practical experience in Korean language and culture.

Program Fee

PSU students pay regular PSU tuition, 12 credits per term while abroad. 

Note:  For more detailed information on program cost, see "Budget Sheets" found at the top of this brochure page.  

The University of Ulsan also offers airfare support (max 1,300,000 KRW, approx. $1,100 USD) to 2 PSU students. In exchange, students will be responsible for conducting 9 hours of social meetings each week with University of Ulsan students.  In this meeting, University of Ulsan students will expect to learn about American culture and have a chance to speak with a native English speaker.  PSU students can make University of Ulsan friends and learn about Korean culture through this exchange.  This does not require any professional teaching skills at all.

Application Fee:
All applications include a $50 non-refundable fee due on the application deadline. Students who do not intend to complete a program application are required to withdraw before the deadline, otherwise, the $50 application fee will
be assessed to the students' account.
