Program Description:

Program OverviewCarpe Diem India

Students will get in touch with their spiritual side as they explore the rich history and culture of India and its people. The semester in India will spend 3 months traversing the diverse ecological and spiritual landscape of the Himalayas, the Indus River Valley and the birthplace of 3 major world religions. Volunteer with your group at the Mother Teresa Home for the Destitute in Calcutta, experience first-hand the burning ghats of Varanasi, and live with Tibetan families in the hometown of the Dalai Lama. 

Program Focus

This program is ideal for Freshman and Sophomore-level students looking to gain international experience in India. Students on this program will visit India’s national capital of Delhi; Varanasi (the city of lights); Bodhgaya – the spiritual epicenter and birthplace of Buddhism; Calcutta (Kolkata), offering the opportunity for voluntary service at the Mother Theresa Home for the Destitute; and, Amritsar, home to the Sikhs’ Golden Temple. Additionally, students travel to Ladakh, which is primarily influenced by Tibet. Rishikesh and Haridwar are also visited.

Application Fee:
All applications include a $50 non-refundable fee due on the application deadline. Students who do not intend to complete a program application are required to withdraw before the deadline, otherwise, the $50 application fee will
be assessed to the students' account.
