Program Description:

PROGRAM OVERVIEW
*Program Overview is from 2019: Content is subject to change.

This program identifies the challenges to environmental and cultural sustainability in the region and supports efforts to preserve this inheritance in the midst of tremendous economic pressure and global environmental change. Students will work closely with a local non-profit organization in order to learn first-hand about the tensions that exist between conservation goals and economic growth. They will also learn about several efforts to address these concerns through: 1) visits to local wildlife sanctuaries and cultural centers as well as through 2) participation in a service learning experience in support of a local renewable energy project, for a substantial portion of time spent abroad.
