Program Overview
Madrid’s influence in politics, education, science, entertainment, media, fashion, and arts make it an important international metropolis, and the major hub in southern Europe. Spain’s capital city is also its largest, with a historic center dating back to the Hapsburg Empire, and world-renowned art museums. A huge variety of tapas bars, dance shows, concerts, parks, soccer matches, ethnic neighborhoods, and contemporary theater and cinema make it a lively place to live and learn.
Program Focus
Summer Open Campus in Madrid allows you to focus on one course in the summer session II, four-week program with integrated and optional opportunities to explore Spanish society and culture. CIEE helps you get the most out of your stay even before you leave home. Pre-departure orientation is followed by extensive on-site introductions to Madrid, Spanish culture and habits, health and safety information, and academic preparation.
Courses taught at the CIEE Global Institute are for CIEE students only. Each course is a full semester in content, so the pace is quick and the workload demanding. Classes are scheduled Monday-Friday.
