Program OverviewAHA Oviedo

Surrounded by pre-Romanesque monuments, the gothic cathedral of San Salvador, and the 400-year-old University of Oviedo, discover one of the most culturally significant regions in Spain. Hike, ski, or relax on the beach just a short trip from the city center. Experience the historic architectural sites as well as the contemporary music concerts, theater, and exhibitions. Language classes take place at the Curso de Lengua y Cultura Espanolas para Extranjeros (ELE) on the university campus. Immerse yourself in Spanish language, culture, and history.

Program Focus

This program is ideal for students of all levels of Spanish language. Students with no previous language skills enroll in the Beginning Immersion program where language courses are taught in Spanish and content courses are taught in English. More advanced Spanish speakers will enroll in the Intermediate or Advanced Immersion programs. During the spring semester, intermediate and advanced students who meet the academic requirements may also enroll directly in a selection of courses offered in Spanish and/or English with Spanish and other international students at the University.
