CIEE BudapestProgram Overview

Buda and Pest, two halves facing each other across the wide Danube River, make up this grand city where you’ll find a medieval neighbourhood and castle, Baroque architecture, and hundreds of museums, theatres, and galleries. As Hungary’s capital, Budapest is the administrative, business, educational, and cultural center of the country. Despite the scars of four decades of communist rule, Budapest retains a rich turn-of-the-century feel and easy-to-live-in charm.

Program Focus

The Corvinus University of Budapest, known as Karl Marx University until 1990 and the Budapest University of Economic Sciences and Public Administration until 2004, was established in 1948. Specially designed courses in a variety of fields such as history, politics, economics, culture, and current issues. The program allows students to explore a dynamic Central European culture while immersing themselves in Hungarian language.
