Program Description:

Program OverviewUSAC San Sebastian Sum

The San Sebastián program opens an academic window on the Spanish and Basque people, introducing you to the rich diversity of Spain and offering a truly multicultural experience. San Sebastián has the highest level of bilingualism of any of the area's cities: all of its inhabitants speak Spanish, and one third speak Basque as well. In addition to American students, European students also participate in the San Sebastián program.

Program Focus

Semester: Fall, Spring, Academic Year
Students have the option to participate in Fall, Spring or Academic Year programs. The USAC intensive language approach allows students to complete up to two years of university language coursework in only one semester. The language courses can be complemented by electives in related areas such as history, literature, culture, and art. During the semester, many of these elective courses are shared by local Spanish students, offering students a unique opportunity for cultural integration.

Summer
PSU students can participate in the summer session II program, earning 3 to 5 semester credits (5 to 8 quarter credits). Take advantage of this study abroad opportunity, and learn how studying abroad can be a more meaningful and invigorating learning  experience than at home—both inside and outside of the classroom—because you will be in a different place. You may be more curious and alert than you usually are; use this heightened energy to enhance your studies as well as your cultural and geographical explorations. This program offers courses from diverse academic areas, including Spanish Language, Basque Language, and European Studies.
