Studying abroad in South America includes the opportunity to scale mountains, work on meaningful construction projects, and experience unparalleled beauty of Ecuador, Peru. Ecuador offers the colonial city of Quito and the beautiful cloud forest in the Andes where there is plenty of fun and adventure to be had. Peru's highlands offer unique geological exploration around the El Misti volcano, spectacular Lake Titicaca and the floating islands, rafting in the rapids of the magnificent Colca Canyon, and a trek through the remote villages of the Sacred Valley to the phenomenal ancient Incan city of Machu Picchu. 

Program Details

This program is ideal for Freshman- and Sophomore-level students looking to gain international experience in South America. Volunteer service in various locations throughout Ecuador and Peru provides a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to explore a part of the world that is rich with history and tradition. Teaching English or computer skills are likely to be one of the many types of volunteering that takes place. Other types of volunteer activities include village construction projects, reforestation efforts, learning and teaching sustainable/low impact farming techniques and alternative energy sources, maintaining botanical gardens, monitoring and researching wildlife, and learning the importance of ecotourism and fair trade.

Application Fee:
All applications include a $50 non-refundable fee due on the application deadline. Students who do not intend to complete a program application are required to withdraw before the deadline, otherwise, the $50 application fee will
be assessed to the students' account.
