Program Description:

Program Overview CIEE Alicante Lib Arts

With a population rapidly approaching 300,000, Alicante is a thriving Spanish city. Located on the Mediterranean coast, Alicante provides a warm and inviting place to begin your exploration of Spain or to continue a previous journey you may have made. In recent times, Alicante has experienced a development boom coinciding with rapid population growth. You’ll see modern architecture alongside old buildings, internet cafes next to historic churches, and shopping malls alongside centuries-old open air markets. Although Alicante is fast becoming a cosmopolitan and multicultural city, the city retains a distinct Spanish flavor.

The Universidad de Alicante is one of Spain’s newest universities, located three miles outside the city of Alicante. Established to serve the higher education needs of the province of Alicante, the Universidad de Alicante offers its 35,000 students the benefits of a modern campus with an international atmosphere. The CIEE Study Center offices are located on the main campus in San Vicente and provide students direct access to University facilities.

Program Focus

This program is designed for students who have completed a minimum of five semesters of university-level language instruction in Spanish.
