CIEE: Sydney

Head to the land down under and discover the breathtaking biodiversity and laid-back lifestyle of this diverse country. Even better, experience Sydney your way by customizing your study abroad term on the Open Campus Block Program. Take one, two, or three six-week blocks, select your courses from a wide range of subject areas. In Sydney, you’ll enjoy one of the world’s most livable and friendliest cities with easy access to outdoor activities and iconic beaches.

Stay in Cape Town the entire time or spend other blocks at our Global Institute locations in Berlin, Buenos Aires, Copenhagen, London, Madrid, Yucatán, Monteverde, Paris, Rio de Janeiro, Rome, Santiago, Shanghai, and Sydney.

Program Focus

Students enroll in one, two, or three six-week blocks, taking two courses during each block. This program gives students the flexibility to stay in Sydney the entire time or spend other blocks at our Global Institute locations in Berlin, Buenos Aires, Cape Town, Copenhagen, London, Madrid, Monteverde, Paris, Rio de Janeiro, Rome, Santiago, Shanghai, and Yucatán.

Students may select one of six academic tracks: Business; Communications, Journalism and New Media; Global and Community Health; International Relations and Political Science; Language, Literature and Culture; or STEM and Society. 

The CIEE Global Institute is centrally located and convenient to public transportation for exploring the city.  Courses are taught in English by CIEE faculty drawn from a variety of higher education institutions in Sydney.

Application Fee:
All applications include a $50 non-refundable fee due on the application deadline. Students who do not intend to complete a program application are required to withdraw before the deadline, otherwise, the $50 application fee will
be assessed to the students' account.
